"Safely delivering the UK's Infrastructure"
GPL have recently been awarded the groundworks package for Volker Fitzpatrick on the new Buckshaw Parkway Station near Chorley, Lancashire. The works comprise the construction of 2 new platforms, the substructure works to the new Station Building and footbridge along with associated retaining walls, drainage and ducting works.
The £600k package commissioned by Network Rail, commenced in May 2011 and GPL’s works should be complete by August 2011. The overall scheme will now cost circa £6.8 million and will be open to the public in the Autumn.
Buckshaw Village is a large scale new development close to Chorley in Lancashire and is predominantly on the site of the old Royal Ordnance Factory which closed in 2009. The new station is actually in the same location as an original station built as a private halt for the Royal Ordnance Factory but demolished in the early years of the 21st Century.
